Juice Brown AKA Radio Roxanne

Creative, Music Director, Website Designer

Juice Brown, affectionately known within the circle of Mental Health Monarchs as Radio Roxanne, orchestrates the harmonious fusion of music and healing as the organization's esteemed Music Therapy Director. Music, for Juice, isn't just an auditory experience; it is a lifeline, a coping tool that has woven itself into the very fabric of her being since childhood. Her journey with music is a testament to its transformative power, embodying the essence of what she now imparts as a therapist.

With a storied past as a novice DJ and beatmaker, Juice's affinity for rhythm and sound extends beyond mere enjoyment—it's an intrinsic part of her identity. Her hands, once busy on the turntables, now craft symphonies of support and restoration for those under her care. Juice Brown's professional credentials are as dynamic as her taste in music, holding an associate's degree in radio/TV broadcasting and a foundation in commercial art (thus, the design of this website). It is this eclectic academic background that informs her innovative approach to music therapy.

In the solitude of long drives, the sanctity of her home, the camaraderie of friends, or the energy of a live show, Juice finds her sanctuary in music. Each environment serves as a canvas for her auditory exploration, allowing her to immerse in the depth of soundscapes that range from the poignant beats of southern hip-hop to the pulsating rhythms of Afrobeat, the soul-stirring reverberations of roots reggae, and the soothing melodies of Brazilian jazz. Her palette is rich with musical genres, appreciating the intricate blend of funk, the spiritual lift of soulful house, and everything that lies within and beyond these realms.

Sharing music is a dialogue of the soul for Juice Brown. To exchange tunes with her is to converse in a love language that is deeply intimate and revealing. She is captivated not only by the beats that make her heart thrum—the hard-hitting drums and resonant bass—but also by the stories told through intelligent production and lyricism. It's a dance of sounds and words that, when masterfully combined, reveal the human experience in all its shades.

As the mastermind behind the music therapy initiative at Mental Health Monarchs, Juice Brown ingeniously integrates her passion into a therapeutic framework. Her innovative program, which thoughtfully dissects the lyrics of various songs, offers a creative avenue to unpack mental health themes hidden within our favorite melodies—or even those we may not hold as dear. It is a journey through sound that is at once educational, reflective, and deeply engaging.

Radio Roxanne's sessions are far from conventional. They are immersive experiences where beats and bars become the tools through which individuals can explore their inner landscapes. Through her guidance, participants learn to find their rhythm, to harmonize their inner discord, and to compose the soundtrack of their healing journey.

Juice Brown, with her ear finely attuned to the whispers of the psyche and the vibrations of the heart, continues to be a beacon at Mental Health Monarchs. She represents the harmonious potential of music and therapy intertwined, an alchemy of sound and soul that resonates with the core of human resilience and the universal quest for harmony within.
